Requirements for this role: Flexible hours available 1 year of relevant work experience required for this role Work visa will be provided for this role Chef Full-Time Position The Trustee for Bandara Family Trust T/as Bundys Bar & Bites 67 Liebig Street, Warrnambool VIC, 3280 Salary: $67,000 $80,000 + Super (depending on experience) Bundys Bar & Bites is a well-established restaurant located in Warrnambool, offering a diverse menu featuring Sri Lankan and Australian cuisine. We are seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and cook a variety of dishes in line with menu requirements Develop and update menus, including seasonal and specialty items Ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency at all times Supervise and train kitchen staff Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and workplace safety Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and liaise with suppliers Manage kitchen operations efficiently during service periods Ensure compliance with Australian food safety standards Prepare and present authentic Sri Lankan dishes using traditional cooking methods and spice blends Contribute to menu development, including Sri Lankan specialty items Skills & Experience Required Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery / Hospitality (Diploma level or higher preferred) Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience as a Chef, Strong knowledge of Sri Lankan and/or Australian cuisine Proven ability to independently manage kitchen operations, including menu planning and staff supervision Experience in Sri Lankan cuisine (highly desirable), including preparation of traditional dishes such as curries, hoppers, kottu roti, sambals, and spice-based marinades Knowledge of balancing spices and flavour profiles typical to South Asian cuisine Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment Strong leadership and communication skills
