Director Corporate ServicesLocated in Darwin or Jabiru, NT (your choice)The West Arnhem Balance Sheet (People, Country, Culture) West Arnhem Regional Council covers almost 50,000 km of stunning Top End landscape in the western part of Arnhem Land, Northern Territory, including vibrant remote towns, communities and outstations. Council provides a broad range of local government and community services across five wards, working closely with Traditional Owners and Aboriginal communities who make up the majority of the regions population. The current Director is a highly respected and approachable leader who has made a significant and lasting contribution to the organisation. They have built strong relationships and fostered a supportive team environment. The Numbers and Beyond Lead the corporate heartbeat of one of Australias most unique and adventurous regions.As Director of Corporate Services with West Arnhem Regional Council, you will not only steer Councils financial strategy, governance and risk, but also shape how vital services are delivered across remote communities stretching from Darwin deep into Arnhem Land where charter flights, dirt roads and spectacular country are part of this exciting job. You will provide sharp, evidencebased advice to the CEO and Executive, drive longterm financial sustainability, and champion digital transformation so our systems are as strong and contemporary as the country we serve. This is your chance to step into a genuinely impactful Executive role leading finance, ICT, information management and corporate services in a Council where decisions are close to community, the work is diverse, and no two weeks (or trips to community) are the same. Our Next Star Asset - About you Degreequalified in Accounting, Business or a related field, with substantial senior financial leadership experience and CA/CPA credentials. A recognised expert in corporate financial management, reporting and risk, with a strong, practical command of Australian Accounting Standards and public sector legislation. A strategic leader who sets clear priorities, drives budgeting and longterm financial planning, and guides organisations through change and transformation. An inspiring people manager who develops highperforming, multidisciplinary teams and brings others on the journey. Realworld experience living and working in remote or Indigenous community contexts, with the ability to build respectful, culturally strong relationships across West Arnhems communities.
