Senior Solicitor Legal Officer Grade V Civil Law Division Statewide Talent Pool Competitive Salary: $154,403 - $157,430pa (plus superannuation and leave loading) Legal Officer Grade V Flexible work options available, office attendancerequired. About us Legal Aid NSW delivers accessible legal services across criminal,familyand civil law. We provide advice, court representation, and family dispute resolution through 28 offices and phone-based support, helping people navigate the legal system with confidence and fairness. About the role The Civil Law Division is the largest publicly funded civil law practice in Australia. Our civil practice covers housing and tenancy, human rights, social security, consumer protection, disaster response and insurance, employment, discrimination, immigration, visa cancellation, the NDIS, mental health law, coronial inquests, and the Sexual Assault Communications Privilege Service. We have dedicated services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, children and young people, refugees, prisoners, veterans, and older people experiencing elder abuse. Our purpose is to improve the lives of people experiencing deep and persistent disadvantage or dislocation by using civil law to meet their fundamental needs. We are seeking aSenior Solicitorwho will play a pivotal leadership role in supervising and supporting Civil Law Practice Managers. You will guide and influence the delivery of highquality civil law services across the division, using your substantial experience in one or more of our civil practice areas. About you You are a seasoned civil law practitioner withdemonstratedcapability in managing a busy legal practice. You understand the importance of consistent, highquality practice standards and excel at translating complex legal concepts into accessible guidance for solicitors at varying experience levels. You are: A collaborative leaderwho builds strong relationships across disciplines An effective communicatorwith excellent client,stakeholderand team engagement skills Organised and strategic, with proven experience supervising legal professionals Committed to community impact, especially in delivering legal services to those experiencing persistent disadvantage Exceptional networking skills and experience working with local communities and diverse stakeholders will set you apart. The successful candidate must have experience in supervising and leading civil law teams, be highly organised with proven experience in communicating effectively with clients,stakeholdersand staff. Theywill also have exceptional networking capabilities particularly with local communities and a diverse range of stakeholders.
