Primary objectiveLead the continuous improvement of SAFE NT business practices and technical systems, enabling the business unit to deliver timely, effective and efficient services within legislative and regulatory frameworks. Includes translating strategic business objects into clear and actionable operational plans and managing change initiatives. Context statementSAFE NT is responsible for implementing national strategic priorities over a range of operating areas including managing criminal history data, National Police Checking, Working with Children and National Disability Insurance Scheme Worker Screening. Key duties and responsibilities1. Review, analyse and develop policies, procedures, business processes and quality assurance relating to SAFE NT systems. 2. Lead and manage the Vetting Team to ensure timely and accurate matching and vetting, release of information, application processing and ongoing monitoring of clearance holders. 3. Lead project teams and liaise with stakeholders to create solutions to complex technical and business system issues. 4. Engage with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand user, process and business needs. 5. Collaborate with inter-agency and inter-government to design, implement and review multilateral systems and processes and represent the business unit at meetings and forums. 6. Apply specialist knowledge to review legacy ICT systems to make clear and actionable recommendations. 7. Lead, manage and deliver change management activities and communication with stakeholders to ensure a smooth integration of new initiatives including the identification and evaluation of risk. 8. Undertake research including collection, analysis and reporting against performance indicators and project outcomes. Selection criteriaEssential1. Demonstrated experience leading high performing teams in analysis, evaluation, and implementation of business improvement initiatives with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to understand underlying problems and develop robust approaches and solutions. 3. Demonstrated high level communication skills with experience in the preparation of policy, executive and Ministerial briefs and collaboration skills with the ability to develop and manage multiple strategic partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders. 4. Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying legislation and translating complex subject matter into clear and concise business requirements and processes. 5. Demonstrated ability to work with a high level of autonomy, manage a diverse workload, work under pressure, prioritise competing demands and pivot with changing priorities. 6. High level ability to understand the broader political and operating environment to deal appropriately with matters of a highly sensitive or confidential nature. Desirable1.
