The service also provides leadership, research, and innovation across the sector, supporting both local SESLHD programs and four statewide services.SHBBV cares for approximately 28,000 patients through clinic-based and outreach models. Its highly-skilled, diverse workforce spans nursing, medical, allied health, health promotion, and administrative roles. SHBBV is Australias largest sexual health and blood borne virus service.The Kirketon Road Centre (KRC) is a specialised service within SHBBV. Operating across four locations, KRC provides targeted health services for people who inject drugs, people engaged in sex work, at risk young people, First Nations people, LGBTQI+ communities, and people experiencing homelessness. KRC delivers tailored primary and urgent care for these priority populations, complementing and extending the broader services provided across SHBBV. KRC also delivers nurse led outreach, in partnership with community organisations, to improve access for people who may not engage with traditional healthcare settings.This position provides expert medical assessment and management of patients within a multidisciplinary team consisting of doctors, nurses, counsellors, and health education officers to address patients often complex medical and psychosocial needs. In addition, the position provides clinical oversight and facilitation of training needs to advanced trainees, registrars, residents, and nurses, and to initiate and participate in research, auditing, and quality improvement activities.In this role, you will provide expert medical assessment and management across primary health care, sexual health, HIV, viral hepatitis and addiction medicine within a multidisciplinary team caring for patients with often complex medical and psychosocial needs. You will also contribute to clinical leadership, supervision and teaching of trainees and junior staff, and participate in research, audit and quality improvement activities that strengthen care across KRC and the broader SHBBV service.This position is suitable for a medical doctor with: a fellowship in sexual health medicine, with experience in primary health care; a fellowship in addiction medicine, with experience in primary health care; or a fellowship in general practice.The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is exceptional people, healthier lives.
