Other NSW locations may be considered by negotiation Ongoing position available Total Remuneration Package Range starting from $247,865 $272,811 Your roleThe Commander, Court Escort Security Unit (CESU) leads a highstakes operational environment spanning court cell complexes and correctional centres, driving safe, secure and efficient custody services that meet legislative and community expectations. In this role, you will shape statewide operational direction, provide expert custodial advice, and influence critical decisionmaking across Corrective Services NSW.In this role you will also drive modern best practice, build workforce capability, lift performance and culture, and ensure strong financial and operational stewardship across a diverse, geographically dispersed team, delivering meaningful impact on the safety and integrity of NSWs correctional system.What youll doAs the Commander, CESU you will: Lead the delivery of highquality security and custody services across court complexes and correctional centres, ensuring resources are used efficiently to meet operational outcomes. Provide strategic, tactical, and operational advice to senior stakeholders on emerging issues, risks, industrial matters and operational performance. Drive and contribute to the development and implementation of statewide strategies and action plans for the Security, Custody & Community Branch. Oversee CESUs budget performance, manage financial risks Mentor, support and performancemanage senior managers across CESU Lead continuous improvement, cultural development and evidencebased approaches that enhance inmate, staff and community safety, and support reintegration and reduced reoffending. Identify opportunities to strengthen operational consistency, intelligence and operations systems, and governance across sites. Oversee compliance and governance systems including ethical practice, operational reviews, business continuity planning. Demonstrated capability in leading large, diverse and geographically dispersed teams, with a strong commitment to mentoring and developing senior leaders. Proven experience navigating highrisk, legally regulated operational settings. Ability to manage competing priorities, sensitive issues and significant stakeholder expectations. Strong strategic thinking skills, with a track record of contributing to operational strategies, reforms and continuous improvement initiatives. Highly developed communication, negotiation and influence skills. Strong financial acumen with experience managing substantial budgets. A commitment to ethical practice, collaborative problemsolving, and building trust and transparency across diverse stakeholder groups.
