What you''ll do: Manage contracts for the maintenance of and delivery of minor work to our properties and grounds containing civil and electrical/mechanical assets. Contract management includes preparation of specifications, assessing tenders, contract commencement, allocation of work and ongoing supervision/reporting, assessment of claims and invoice payment. Carry out site investigation work to establish job needs, preparing/obtaining estimates and quotations, and subsequently providing the necessary documentation and follow up on quotations. Monitor expenditure against budget and against purchasing approvals. Respond to urgent maintenance activities arising from natural disasters or storms. Preparing drawings, sketches and specifications including minor design as working details to enable contractors to carry out maintenance work considering WHS, environmental and cost requirements. Assessing suitability of various contractors to perform various works for Hunter Water in accordance with corporate guidelines. Continuously seek improvement in the delivery of minor works and contractor engagement. What you''ll need to be successful: Essential Criteria: Relevant experience in contract management and administration Experience in OR demonstrated understanding of activities related to grounds and property maintenance as well as site rehabilitation/regeneration Relevant qualifications in horticulture/arboriculture, bush regeneration, environmental management or relevant land management Experience in effectively managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and customers Excellent communication, negotiation, mediation and interpersonal skills Demonstrated experience working in accordance with WHS & Environmental policies and management systems Construction Induction Card Class C Drivers licence and ability to tow a trailer Demonstrated contract management, administration and organisational skills Ability to investigate, scope and deliver minor maintenance works in a time and cost-efficient manner Demonstrated competency in using computer systems and programs Sound investigative and analytical skills Ability to prioritise and multi task a combination of reactive and planned workload Desirable Criteria: Qualifications in contract management Qualifications in chainsaw use including Trim and Cut Felled Trees and Maintain Chainsaws Qualifications in Chemical Application (Level 3) Demonstrated experience in use of grounds and property maintenance equipment such as mowers, slashers, brush cutters, spray applicators, etc Demonstrated knowledge of plant, tree and weed species and their management in certain environments Safety compliance tickets including Working at Heights Certificate, First Aid Certificate and/or Asbestos Awareness Application Steps: To be considered for this position applicants must submit a cover letter addressing the Selection Criteria above and provide a current resume.
