The Vascular and Urology Surgical Unit is a specialised inpatient environment where you will work alongside expert surgeons, nursing leaders and a multidisciplinary team committed to excellent patient outcomes.WSLHD serves a population of over 1 million people across one of Australia''s most culturally diverse communities, offering rich clinical variety in every shift.Access to salary packaging, Fitness Passport, Employee Assistance Program and professional development support.A learning culture with access to mandatory and ongoing training through HETI and departmental education programs.What you''ll be doingAs an Enrolled Nurse in the Vascular and Urology Surgical Unit, you will deliver nursing care within the Integrated Care Program and as part of a multidisciplinary health care team, working under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse.Deliver patient-centred, compassionate care within scope of practice, assisting with activities of daily living, mobility, and comfort to support patients in achieving optimal independence.Recognise and report clinical variations and anomalies by escalating concerns to the Nurse in Charge or Medical Officer, utilising a problem-solving approach to patient assessment.Document all patient care provided in relation to outcomes in progress notes and clinical records, delivering a high standard of reporting and legal accuracy in each patient''s records.Cooperate with and support the nursing team by contributing to team goals, and promote a dignified, clean, comfortable and safe environment for patients, carers and staff.Maintain currency of nursing practice in accordance with AHPRA standards and commit to ongoing professional development through education, workshops and reflective practice.Essential RequirementsCurrent registration with AHPRA as an Enrolled NurseSelection CriteriaCurrent enrolment with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, AHPRA, as an Enrolled Nurse Division 2.Demonstrated recent experience in diabetes management in the acute hospital setting.Demonstrated ability to work within a collaborative team environment with a focus on delivering organised and prioritised care, in order to achieve the most effective and efficient outcomes for the patient.Proven effective and open communication skills, both written and verbal, that build greater cooperation and confidence in care delivery.Demonstrated ability to ensure patients, carers, and families are well informed, engaged and confident about their care and treatment, within the scope of an enrolled nurse.Demonstrate critical thinking abilities, prioritisation and escalation, whilst effectively following directions.Proven commitment to continuing professional development.WSLHD is growing fast and so are the opportunities within it.
