Coordinate the client-facing activities of the UC Tax Clinic. Supervise and mentor student participants in the UC Tax Clinic. The position reports to the Head, Canberra Business School. For further details on how to apply please visit To be successful in the role you will require the following: Significant experience in tax practice at a senior level, either within a firm environment or as a sole practitioner, with evidence of effective client and practice management skills, including demonstrating a sensitivity to, and an ability to deal with, clients from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Highly developed technical knowledge in the area of taxation of individuals and small business. Proficiency in Xero tax preparation and accounting software and Microsoft office applications including strong Excel skills. Ability to supervise and mentor students in a work-integrated learning environment. Relevant qualifications in accounting or a related discipline. Registration as a tax agent with the Tax Practitioners Board. Full membership of a relevant accounting and/or tax professional body. Desirable Previous teaching experience in a tertiary environment. Note: Our preference is for applicants to be based in the ACT. However, as some of the duties of the position can be performed online, applicants from outside the ACT or surrounding regions are welcomed. However, you must be willing to travel to Canberra to perform the duties of the position as agreed. In any case, you must also be available to travel with the students and deliver pop-up Tax Clinic services at sites within the broader Canberra/Queanbeyan and surrounding regions.
