Location: Newcastle or Central Coast area, predominately Hunter Valley/New England Area, New South Wales, Australia Duration: Minimum 8 weeks initially with high likelihood of extension Employment Type: Contract We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer with strong LAN, WAN, and Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) expertise to support the delivery and operational support of enterprise and regional network environments. This role includes periodic rural and regional travel (up to 8 weeks in planned blocks) to support network implementations, upgrades, and remediation activities across geographically distributed sites. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and support LAN and WAN network infrastructure across corporate and regional locations Configure, manage, and troubleshoot NGFW platforms (e.g. Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco Firepower or equivalent) Support routing, switching, and firewall environments, including incident and problem resolution Participate in network upgrades, migrations, and site deployments, including on-site rural work Work closely with internal teams, vendors, and field partners to deliver reliable network services Maintain technical documentation, standards, and network diagrams Skills & Experience Proven experience supporting enterprise LAN and WAN environments Strong hands-on experience with NGFW technologies, including policy design and security best practices Solid understanding of routing protocols, switching, and network troubleshooting techniques Experience working across multiple sites, including regional or remote locations Ability to work independently during on-site engagements Relevant vendor certifications (Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc.) highly regarded Additional Requirements Willingness and ability to travel to rural and regional locations Current drivers licence and ability to work on customer sites Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach Join our growing global team and accelerate your career with us.
