Primary objective Provide allied health assistant and administrative support for clients of the Territory Equipment Program (TEP). The Allied Health Assistant will work collaboratively with the TEP team to provide aids and equipment which support elderly people to remain living in the community. Context statement The Territory Equipment Program aims to assist eligible residents of the Northern Territory, with permanent or long term functional impairment, by providing prescribed equipment, aids and appliances. The program aims to enhance their safety and independence and to assist them to live and participate in their community. TEP administer the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) Assistive Technology and Home Adjustments. Key duties and responsibilities 1. Administer the timely processing of client prescriptions, loan agreements, and equipment reviews; efficient administration of the inventory management system including the ordering, dispatch, issue, return, recovery, retrieval, refurbishment, recycling, reissue, disposal and destruction of equipment; efficient administration of relevant contracts; and reception duties. 2. Research, source, obtain quotes and order resources, equipment, and/or stock, in keeping with team direction and budget parameters and ensure related invoices are processed as per Departmental procedures. 3. Maintain information in the Community Care Information System (CCIS), and Allied Health Equipment Management Solution (AHEMS) to a high standard. Utilise records management and archiving procedures. 4. Participate in quality improvement initiatives 5. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces. Selection criteria Essential 1. Demonstrated understanding of the needs and rights of the client group and the services available to them in their home and community. 2. Demonstrated understanding of multicultural differences and the impacts on health outcomes 3. Demonstrated time management and organisational skills to ensure clinical and non-clinical duties are carried out efficiently. 4. Working knowledge and experience in procurement policy, sourcing of quotes, and processing financial information. 5. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills in working with clients, their families and the multidisciplinary allied health team. 6. Demonstrated understanding of ethical behaviour, including the application of privacy and confidentiality principles. 7. An awareness of and ability to apply and adhere to organisational policies and core values. 8. Formal qualifications in Certificate 4 in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent.
