Closing date: 10/05/2026 11:45 PM AUS Eastern Standard Time Location: 16 Massey Avenue, Leeton NSW 2705 Department: Open Space and Recreation Compensation: Weekly AUD $1,201.90 - $1,339.40 Employment type: Full Time Work Arrangement: On-site Leeton Shire Council is seeking a motivated and skilled Horticultural Tradesperson to join our Open Space and Recreation Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the beauty of our communitys parks, reserves, and streetscapes. The primary purpose of the position is to lead a small team of staff to carry out work to ensure Councils parks, gardens, sporting fields, trees and reserves are maintained to a high standard of appearance. Duties: Specific duties are detailed in the Operations section of the position description, including but not limited to: Parks and gardens establishment and maintenance Sports and recreation grounds establishment and maintenance Turf maintenance Irrigation systems About You We are looking for a team-oriented professional who has excellent interpersonal skills for liaising with the general public and fellow employees, as well as excellent problem solving and teamwork skills. The applicant must hold a current Class C driver licence. Qualifications: A Trade Certificate in Horticulture/Parks and Gardens or equivalent, with at least 12 months relevant work experience. This position is Full Time 38 hours per week with a fortnightly Rostered Day Off. Salary: Grade 7 in Councils salary system ($1,201.90 to $1,339.40 per week) depending upon qualifications and experience, plus 12% Superannuation. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award. Prior to commencement the successful applicant will be required to undergo and successfully pass a Functional Assessment which includes an alcohol and other drug screening and a hearing test.
