Social Worker South Coast Private Hospital Casual role with regular ongoing shifts (45 days per week) We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our multidisciplinary team in a casual position, with consistent, ongoing shifts equivalent to 45 days per week. While this role is offered on a casual basis, it is not ad hoc. The successful applicant can expect reliable hours, with some flexibility around hours worked by mutual agreement. Located in the Wollongong CBD in close proximity to Wollongong train station, South Coast Private is a 90 bed, non-acute, Mental Health Facility offering a range of inpatient and day patient health services. The role encompasses the delivery of outcome focused group and individual programs. Work in a rewarding team environment alongside medical and allied health professionals including psychiatrists, psychologists, dietitians, art therapists, nurses and exercise physiologists. Key Responsibilities Deliver a variety of CBT, DBT and ACT based group programs, harnessing evidenced based principles and teaching actionable skills to patients. Provide individual psychosocial assessment and community support for patients with a range of mental health conditions. Deliver individual counselling to outpatients through the hospital in the home outreach program. Build experience working with first responder populations including emergency and defence personnel. Lead a key role within a multidisciplinary team including allied health, nursing and psychiatry. Participate in innovative quality improvement activities and clinical research projects. Utilise verbal and written communication skills. Selection Criteria Social Work accreditation. Demonstrated experience in providing psychosocial assessments and discharge planning and care coordination. Demonstrated experience delivering mental health group therapy. Demonstrated experienced in utilising counselling skills. Demonstrated experience in working within a multidisciplinary team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A commitment to quality improvement and strong focus on patient care.
