Project Officer, Engagement Join the Office of the 24 Hour Economy Commissioner, a division of the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport Clerk Grade 7/8 with a salary range of $113,574 - $125,720 per annum plus superannuation Temporary role up to 24 December 2026 based in Sydney CBD About the role The Project Officer, Engagement sits within the Events and Engagement team in the Office of the 24-Hour Economy Commissioner, supporting a varied program of external activities across New South Wales. You will provide practical project administration and coordination to help deliver events and initiatives that build interest in the night-time economy, including stakeholder events such as Open Mike Night and the NEON Forum. The work is hands-on and collaborative, involving close coordination with internal teams, partners and suppliers to keep projects on track and ensure activities run smoothly. You will support the full project lifecycle, from preparing briefs and maintaining documentation to coordinating working groups and monitoring progress against plans. The role also contributes to evaluating programs by gathering insights, identifying trends and helping to communicate lessons learned to inform future work. Alongside this, you will manage enquiries, support stakeholder relationships and assist with reporting and research to aid decision-making. Some out-of-hours work will be required to support event delivery. About You You have experience providing project coordination or administrative support, with the ability to keep multiple pieces of work moving at once. You are organised and methodical, able to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines without losing sight of quality. You are comfortable preparing briefs, maintaining accurate records and using project management systems to track progress. You can spot potential risks or issues early, weigh up options and know when to act or escalate to keep things on course. You also bring strong communication and stakeholder skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and with external stakeholders and suppliers. You build positive working relationships and handle enquiries or issues in a calm and practical way. Experience supporting events would be an advantage, particularly where this has involved coordinating logistics and working to tight timeframes.
