The service supports families/carers to understand their childs needs and enhances parent/carers capacity to support their childs development. Assessment and consultations are offered for infants and children residing in the Northern Sydney Local Health District using an evidenced based approach combined with clinical expertise and extensive specialised knowledge of paediatric occupational therapy including fine motor, motor skills, sensory processing, play and self-care skills. This is a district-wide position and is expected to provide services in community health centres throughout NSLHD.This role will be expected to provide extensive specialist knowledge and clinical reasoning skills for assessment and intervention, in addition to planning, and evaluation of service design. The ability to work autonomously to provide both a District level service as well as education and training is required.People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:Eligible for membership to Occupational Therapy Australia. A current and unrestricted NSW drivers licence.Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge of Paediatric Occupational Therapy with evidence of extensive clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist Level 2 or above with extensive experience in assessment, planning and evaluating occupational therapy interventions for children across a complex and diverse range of paediatric diagnostic groups health needs.
