About the Role Ahrens is seeking experienced Fitters and Machinists to join our growing Mining & Industrial Services team based in Kwinana, WA. In this role you''ll be hands-on with the full range of mechanical maintenance, installation, and machining work keeping plant and equipment running at full capacity across our industrial operations and client sites. From routine maintenance through to reactive fault-finding and shutdown work, you''ll be a key part of a team that takes quality and safety seriously. Key Accountabilities Fitting, assembling, and installing mechanical components including pumps, piping, valves, and rotating equipment Performing routine and reactive maintenance on plant equipment pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and crushers Diagnosing faults, dismantling machinery, and repairing or replacing defective parts Aligning and levelling machinery using precision tools such as dial indicators and laser alignment equipment Conducting lubrication, seal changes, and bearing replacements Operating lathes, milling machines, and CNC machines where required Loading and editing CNC programs and troubleshooting machining processes Measuring and inspecting components using precision instruments micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators Installing new mechanical systems during planned shutdowns Testing repaired equipment and completing commissioning documentation before returning to service Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals Essential Criteria Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade (Fitting & Machining or Machining) or equivalent Demonstrated experience in mechanical maintenance and/or machining in an industrial or mining services environment Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Working at Heights and Confined Spaces tickets Current Australian driver''s licence Strong attention to detail with a hands-on, results-focused approach Desirable Criteria HRWL Forklift and/or EWP Experience with CNC machining, G-code editing, and program adjustments Willingness to travel to other Ahrens project sites as required Why Work at Ahrens We are continually evolving and investing in our people and facilities to achieve satisfying outcomes.
