Location SuniTAFE SMART Farm, Irymple Category Casual Job Type Casual Reference Code 10485 Closing Date May 13, 2026 We are seeking a passionate Primary Industries Teacher on a casual basis to deliver high-quality education and training at our SMART Farm campus in Irymple. This role will bring strong technical expertise in production horticulture, supported by formal qualifications, extensive industry experience, and a commitment to educational excellence. Working under the guidance of the Education Delivery Manager Primary Industries, this role will also deliver and assess qualifications from Certificate II through to Diploma level. If you are someone with hands-on industry knowledge with educational leadership and want to make a genuine impact in the future horticulture workforce, we would love to hear from you.Your responsibilities will include: Deliver training programs and assessment services. Assist in the development and implementation of competency-based units in flexible mode. Provide credible solutions to individual students to maximise engagement and retention and minimise withdrawals. Develop and maintain Learning and/or Training Plans for individuals or groups. Maintain appropriate records and evidence to demonstrate compliance Maintain a portfolio of current original or certified vocational/teaching/training qualifications and evidence of relevant industrial experience and professional development activities. Assist in arranging student selection and induction procedures. Provide appropriate, regular, and timely feedback to students. Consult with students and Student Support Services staff to assist students in areas of identified need. Provide a referral service to students who need assistance in accessing Institute policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with SuniTAFEs Staff Code of Conduct, Child Safety Policy, and Child Safety Procedures always. Key selection criteria: The successful candidate will have well developed skills and a strong technical knowledge related to: Production horticulture in orchard / vineyard situations Management of crop health and crop regulation Use of horticultural machinery Use of horticultural chemicals Design, implementation, maintenance and use of irrigation systems, ideally including the use of digital irrigation systems. The successful candidate will be required to provide: A criminal record check which is less than 6 months old. A working with children check.
