Working as part of the Building Services team, you will be assessing applications and providing specialist advice to internal and external customers for Residential Design Code variations. You will prepare written reports for the approval or refusal of the proposed variations, while undertaking negotiation with applicants, ratepayers and other interested parties to ensure that consistent application of the Residential Design Code principles are achieved. This role may suit someone that has previous work experience as a building surveyor, urban planner or a shire liaison for a building company. Your strengths include excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, attention to detail and well-developed verbal and written communication skills. You must have comprehensive knowledge of the Residential Design Codes of Western Australia and be confident and consistent in your decision making. To be considered for this role, you must have a WA C class drivers and a recognised urban planning qualification such as a Bachelor Degree, Graduate Certificate in Development Planning or similar, or a qualification appropriate under the Building Services (Registration) Act 2011.
