SITE MANAGER | COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION (EDUCATION) | ACT/GOULBURN REGION | $130K-$150K + SUPER Lead site delivery across education construction projects Strong pipeline of works up to $5M Canberra / Goulburn location flexibilityAbout Canberra ACT Population: ~462,000 Strong government and education construction pipeline High demand for experienced Site Managers About the roleA well-established commercial construction contractor is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee projects across Canberra and the surrounding region. This role focuses heavily on education sector projects, delivering works up to $5M. You will play a critical role in managing day-to-day site operations, leading trades and subcontractors, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to a high standard. This is a leadership role suited to a confident operator with strong site experience and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively. Key ResponsibilitiesSite & Project Delivery* Coordinate daily site activities in line with programme and priorities * Manage labour, trades and subcontractors on site * Ensure resources, materials and equipment are available and utilised efficiently * Monitor site progress and resolve issues as they arise * Maintain accurate site documentation and reporting Subcontractor & Team Management* Induct and manage subcontractors on site * Ensure works are completed as per scope and programme * Supervise and support trades and site personnel * Promote strong communication and teamwork on site Quality Control* Monitor workmanship and ensure high-quality standards * Ensure materials and installations meet specifications * Conduct regular inspections across all stages of construction Cost & Commercial Awareness* Monitor labour, materials and subcontractor costs * Ensure deliveries match orders and project requirements * Support cost control and budget adherence WHS & Compliance* Enforce WHS policies and site safety standards * Ensure all workers and subcontractors are compliant * Manage incident reporting and site safety documentation Reporting* Provide daily reports to Project Manager * Track progress, issues and site performance * Upload photos and documentation to systems * Assist with subcontractor performance reviews Skills & ExperienceEssential * Minimum 5 years'' experience in the education construction sector * Proven experience managing projects up to $5M * Trade-qualified background * Strong leadership and site management capability * Experience managing subcontractors and site teams * Computer literate (Procore, Hammertech or similar systems) * Strong communication and organisational skills Highly Regarded * Experience across ACT projects * Ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively * Flexible to work across Canberra and Goulburn region Salary & Benefits* $130,000 - $150,000 + super (depending on experience) * Full-time permanent role * Strong pipeline of education projects * Canberra / Goulburn flexibility * Supportive team and professional environment * Long-term career opportunity About the companyThe employer is a well-established commercial construction contractor delivering projects across the ACT, with a strong focus on education sector works.
