We''re looking for someone with a passion for making time with kids awesome! Active OOSH (Out of School Hours) is not your average OOSH provider! Were all about movement, connection and community. We are dedicated and focused on providing high-quality care and education to primary school-aged children in a fun, safe and active environment. We are seeking Coordinators for our services in the Tweed area. If you love interacting with children aged 5-12 years, working with a team, and making an impact in the community, we want to hear from you! The positions will report to our locally-based Area Manager and will focus on delivering a safe, inclusive and engaging environment for children in its care, while fostering positive relationships with parents, caregivers, the school community and regulatory bodies. The position includes - Before School Care hours from 6.30am-9am; After School Care hours from 2.30pm-6.30pm; Plus 2.5 hours Administration time each week during the school term; and Various 7.6 hour shifts between 7am-6pm during the school holidays. Key responsibilities Lead the day-to-day operations of the service, ensuring compliance with relevant national standards; Ensure the safety, wellbeing and engagement of children at all times through effective supervision and risk management practices; Oversee service programming and activities to align with childrens interests and developmental needs, including children with additional needs; Oversee the completion of daily checklists, records and other administrative tasks to ensure that policies and processes are adhered to; Provide leadership, supervision and support to Educators, including rostering, training, mentoring, and leading fortnightly team meetings to foster a positive workplace culture; Build strong relationships with parents, caregivers and the broader school community, and respond to queries in a timely and professional manner; Be an active promoter of AO, upcoming programs and vacation care to families. Key skills and attributes Experience working with children and/or an ability to interact with, and build a strong rapport with children; Leadership skills and the ability to manage a small team effectively; A friendly, positive and solutions-focused approach; Good observation skills and an awareness of surroundings; Good organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities; Good communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders; Sound knowledge of the National Quality Framework (My Time, Our Place), and other relevant legislation and regulations. Qualifications / Certificates A current Working With Children Check is required, or be willing to obtain; Qualifications in Child Care First Aid, CPR and Child Protection would be advantageous, or be willing to obtain; An understanding of the National Quality Framework and other relevant legislation and regulations would be advantageous, or be willing to learn; Whilst experience in the education or childcare sector is beneficial, we are open to candidates who might be looking for a career change and looking to take on a new challenge! A package of over $90,000 (including Super) is being offered for the position. We also offer flexible work hours, great rates, and a supportive work environment!
