It is one of 22 Flexible Schools throughout Australia that provide a fulltime, multiyear secondary education program for young people who have disengaged from mainstream schooling. The purpose of a Flexible School is to provide young people with a varied and holistic set of learning experiences that support them in identifying and pursuing an individual transition to adulthood, employment, further education, training and social connectedness. About the Role The Youth Worker reports to the Area Principal or delegate. Support effective learning and teaching programs for young people in both middle and senior phases of secondary education. Promote the physical health and emotional wellbeing of the young people. Develop and implement the school''s strategic and operational plans regarding the function of your role as youth worker. Maintain a supportive and inclusive school environment. Build relationships with the school, staff, students, families, industry and community organisations to plan, act and achieve outcomes. Facilitate young peoples engagement with relevant external agencies through appropriate referral pathways and stakeholder meetings.
