Location: Sydney NSW, AU, 2116 Type of Employment: Full-time Career Level: Professional Date posted: Apr 16, 2026 The Labourer - Civil is responsible for delivering the civil installation elements of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and Traffic Control Systems (TCS) projects across the O&M portfolio. This includes the construction, modification, and reconstruction of assets to meet technical specifications and safety standards. The role plays a key part in supporting Yunex Traffics operational objectives through highquality workmanship and adherence to customer and regulatory requirements. The working pattern will be approximately 70% night shift and 30% day shift, but this can change depending on customer requirements. Overtime is also available. Areas of Responsibility and Tasks Comply with internal and external processes. Construction and reconstruction of assets, such as Traffic Control Signals (TCS), Variable Message Signs (VMS) and Hazard warning signs (AWS, VSLS) etc. Electrical testing of ITS assets. Preparation of equipment prior to final installation e.g., Traffic Signal Controllers or vehicle detection systems. Installation or modification of new and existing TCS and ITS assets. Successful completion of mandatory technical or safety related training. Undertake appropriate training with the addition of new equipment and systems as and when necessary, via formal and informal training, including on the job training. Liaising with customers and other contractors that may be on site. Ensuring works are completed in accordance with the site specification, in a timely manner and to a highquality level. Conduct yourself in accordance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, all employees have a duty to comply with all Health and Safety Procedures and to be alert in identifying potential hazards by removing or minimising them wherever possible. Any other duties reasonably practicable within the skills required for the role. Desirable Experience and Skills Experience with Traffic Signal infrastructure or pit & pipe work. Excavator experience and VOC. Rigger and Dogmen VOC. Knowledge & Skills Training will be provided where required in the relevant asset categories. High level of communication skills, both verbal and written, will be necessary as you will be expected to liaise with other parts of the business and with customers. Ability to achieve objectives with strict deadlines and manage your own workload. Be cooperative, helpful, willing to use initiative and conscientious. Be willing to change, move from one activity or work area to another, learn new activities, pick up new jobs confidently and easily. Drive and energy applied to work, accuracy and reliability, ability to get things right first time. Work towards the team''s goals, work well with other people, communicate effectively within the team, and contribute to a high standard of team morale. Must hold full Driving License, MR/HR preferred. Must be physically fit as this role requires a certain element of manual handling. Teamoriented with a positive attitude and respect for others. Desired Qualifications and Experience Traffic signal fundamentals and TfNSW SPECIFICATION D&C TS101. Transport for New South Wales (RMS) ITS standards/specifications. Knowledge of ITS and traffic signal products from across the industry. Excavator, Rigger, or Dogman VOC. Construction White card. First aid / CPR. Basic Traffic Control.
