2026 WCHN Trauma and Orthopaedic Registrar Job no: 901048 Work type: Full time, Part time Location: Adelaide CBD Categories: Medical Organization: Womens and Childrens Health Network Salary: MDP2 - Medical Practitioner - $99,707 to $158,523 + Superannuation and Salary Sacrifice Benefits Term: 3 years, with rotations following initial 12-month term as per SMOEA 2022 About the Opportunity We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Surgical Services team as a Trauma and Orthopaedic Registrar, where you will be responsible for: Responsibilities Provide care to severely injured patients presenting to WCHN as a member of the WCHN Trauma Team, both in the Emergency Department and during admission, under consultant supervision Assist the WCHN trauma nurse coordinator in Trauma Governance Activities, including preparation of audit data and case presentation for the monthly Trauma M&M Attend the WCHN Trauma Audit Group Meetings and WCHN Trauma Education Sessions during rostered hours Participate in a roster to provide overnight care of ward and ED patients with acute surgical issues requiring assessment by a member of the surgical team Participate in research projects in the field of paediatric or adolescent trauma Attend outpatient clinics relevant to the field of trauma care, including fracture, burns and rehabilitation Qualifications Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent Registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Medical Registration Completion of RACS Early Management of Severe Trauma Course or equivalent Completion of RACS Care of the Critically Ill Surgical Patient Course or equivalent Clinical experience in acute surgical care, including trauma Skill in problem solving and decision making at an organisational and individual level Understanding of both the rights and responsibilities of patients and their families Benefits Relocation financial support may be negotiated, subject to eligibility Salary package includes living expenses such as mortgage, rent, utility bills and groceries up to $9,010 each FBT year plus $2,650 for meal entertainment expenses each FBT year Access to Fitness Passport workplace health and fitness program Free public transport for SA Health Metropolitan Hospital workers to and from the Womens and Childrens Hospital (not applicable to network community sites) Access to generous leave provisions and professional development opportunities Support via the Employee Assistance Program for you and your family Community and Equity Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants are encouraged to apply.
