About the Role As a Mixed Animal Veterinarian, youll have the responsibility of supporting our LA team delivering exceptional service to the Canterburys farming community, while providing excellence in care to our Petfirst clients and their fur families. Key Responsibilities Mentor and support junior Companion Animal team members supporting their development and upskilling. A focus on our dairy clients and building strong relationships with farmers. Develop our people and our Small Animal business and find new possibilities for delivering value to our customers. Provide exceptional veterinary care to both our production animal and companion animal patients, ensuring their wellbeing and quality of life. Conduct routine herd health checks, fertility management, and disease prevention. Perform surgical procedures and treatments as required, delivering the highest standards of care. Pursue continuing education and stay current with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine, including wearables. Bring our clients on the journey to improve their animal and farm performance and be committed to providing valueadding services to our farmers. NewZVeterinary Council Registration and Annual Practicing Certificate (or equivalency enabling registration). A Bachelor of Veterinary Science with a minimum of 3+ years experience in Mixed Animal Practice. Demonstrated interest or experience in leadership within a clinical setting. A proven clinical skill set including surgery and consulting. Experience handling difficult or complex cases with professionalism and expertise. A warm, approachable personality that makes both customers and colleagues feel valued and supported. Exceptional communication skills, ensuring smooth collaboration with your team and clarity for farmers and pet parents.
