Work Type: Full-time Location: shop 1/ 408 Victoria Rd Gladesville, NSW 2111 Salary Range: $95,000 $110,000 (excluding superannuation) per year Position Overview The Nurse Practitioner at Brain Hub is an advanced clinical role responsible for providing advanced and extended nursing care to children, adolescents and adults with complex neurological, neurodevelopmental, functional, vestibular, autonomic, cognitive, behavioural and rehabilitation presentations. The role involves undertaking comprehensive health assessments, contributing to diagnosis and clinical formulation, ordering, recommending or interpreting relevant diagnostic investigations, prescribing or recommending patient care management plans, therapies and clinical interventions within scope, monitoring patient response to treatment, coordinating multidisciplinary care, referring patients to medical specialists and other health professionals, and providing education to patients and families. In addition to advanced clinical practice, the Nurse Practitioner acts as a Lead Practitioner and Team Leader, supervising and coordinating the work of healthcare workers, therapy staff and allied health assistants, supporting clinical governance, mentoring team members, and ensuring safe, evidence-informed and patient-centred care. Tasks and Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive health assessments for paediatric and adult patients with neurological, neurodevelopmental, autonomic, vestibular, cognitive, behavioural, mental health and rehabilitation needs Apply advanced clinical reasoning to identify health risks, functional limitations, developmental concerns and care prioritisation Contribute to diagnosis and clinical formulation within authorised scope Order, review and interpret diagnostic tests, medical reports, medication history and therapy response data Identify red flags, contraindications and situations requiring urgent medical review or specialist referral Develop, prescribe and oversee patient care management plans and therapy programmes Monitor patient responses to therapies and adjust care plans according to progress and safety considerations Provide clinical oversight for neurodevelopmental rehabilitation, vestibular rehabilitation, autonomic regulation, cognitive therapy, primitive reflex therapy and functional rehabilitation programmes Review suitability of neuromodulation and technology-assisted therapies including qEEG-guided interventions, photobiomodulation, TMS, tDCS/tACS and nerve stimulation Review medications in relation to patient presentation and therapy tolerance; refer to treating medical practitioners where medication review required Prescribe patient care management, medicines and therapies where authorised and clinically appropriate Coordinate multidisciplinary care across Brain Hub services and liaise with GPs, specialists, allied health professionals, schools, NDIS stakeholders and other providers Refer patients to specialists or other health professionals where additional assessment or treatment required Participate in case conferences, patient reviews and multidisciplinary clinical planning meetings Provide patient and family education regarding assessment findings, treatment options, therapy goals, clinical risks and care plans Provide senior clinical oversight for complex cases as Lead Practitioner Support case formulation, advanced clinical decision-making and treatment prioritisation Guide therapy sequencing, clinical risk management and determine when therapy should be progressed, modified, paused or referred externally Supervise and coordinate enrolled nurses, allied health assistants, therapy assistants and healthcare workers as Team Leader Provide mentoring, clinical guidance and education to Brain Hub team members Monitor quality and consistency of therapy delivery and ensure staff follow care plans, safety procedures and clinical protocols Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in accordance with professional nursing standards, AHPRA requirements and Brain Hub policies Support informed consent, risk screening, incident reporting and escalation procedures Identify and manage clinical risk associated with assessment, therapy, neuromodulation and medical complexity Qualifications and Skills Relevant postgraduate qualifications consistent with Nurse Practitioner endorsement. Current registration with AHPRA Demonstrated experience in advanced nursing assessment, diagnosis, clinical decision-making, care planning and care coordination Experience working with complex patients in health, rehabilitation, disability, community, paediatric, mental health, neurological or chronic disease settings. Strong understanding of professional scope, clinical governance, risk management and multidisciplinary care. Leadership experience in a clinical or multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
