Help connect with communities and connect communities with their national collections The National Library of Australia is seeking to fill the integral role of Coordinator, Library Reading Rooms (APS5) in the Reader Services Section in Engagement Branch. As a Coordinator, Library Reading Rooms, youll be helping people explore the Library, discover collections and feel at home in our spaces. This onsite only role is perfect for someone who thrives in a lively, people-focused environment. What Youll Do Support visitors as they navigate the Librarys collections, equipment and research tools Keep the reading rooms safe and organised Provide warm, knowledgeable reference assistance in person, online and by phone Lead and support staff during after-hour periods, ensuring smooth, high-quality service Work closely with security to maintain a safe and welcoming environment Why Youll Love It Every shift brings new questions, new stories and new opportunities to help people connect with information and ideas. Working Arrangements This part-time role primarily involves evening shifts (from 5-8pm) and weekend work when the library is open. The minimum commitment is 19 hours per fortnight, comprising two evening shifts per week and alternate Saturdays. Your Expertise To excel in this position, a background in Information Management, Arts, Humanities, or Social Sciences is essential.
