We are currently seeking an experienced **Instrument Chemist** to join our dedicated Organics team.Based at **Wangara**, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the team consistently delivers high-quality results on time while striving to exceed expectations.This full-time position encompasses a range of key responsibilities, including:* Ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with the Quality Procedures Manual* Supervision and training of laboratory staff* Prioritising daily workloads* Operation and maintenance of instrumentation* Reporting of results in accordance with Quality Work Instructions* Ensuring compliance with the laboratorys QC and HSE requirements* Preparing standards for sample analysis* Maintaining relevant documentation **The essentials*** Bachelor of Science or equivalent (Honours and Chemistry disciplines advantageous but all sciences backgrounds are encouraged to apply)* At least 2 years experience in a commercial laboratory* Previous experience operating with GC/FID, GCMS or LCMSMS would be advantageous* Available to work Monday to Friday on either day or afternoon shifts, with the flexibility to occasionally work on Saturdays as required.* Understanding of sample preparation for organics analysis for soil and water matrices highly regarded* Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)* A working knowledge of organic sample preparation techniques for Environmental samples.
