The Section Senior Nuclear Medicine Technologist (SSNMT): Is responsible for the scheduling and adaptation of services within the section of Nuclear Medicine within the Medical Imaging Department Must possess excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills Performs the clinical duties and associated administrative duties (e.g. policy and procedure development) of that section, under the direction of the Chief Radiographer.The SSNMT is responsible for the general supervision of qualified and student nuclear medicine technologists (NMT), assessing clinical placement personnel and for the maintenance of high quality work standards of NMT under his/her supervision.He/she is also responsible for assisting the Chief Radiographer or delegate in the scheduling of personnel, ordering store items and radiopharmaceuticals, repair of equipment, maintenance of the department QA program and the evaluation of work progress within the section assigned to them.At completion of one year full-time (or part-time equivalent) at Level 4 (Grade 1) Year 1, the MRS (Nuclear Medicine) will automatically progress to Level 4 (Grade 1) Year 2.People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:Diploma or Degree of Applied Science in Nuclear Medicine Technology/recognised qualifications in Nuclear Medicine;Registration with AHPRA through the MRPB;License to use radioactive materials in Nuclear Medicine (EPA radiation license Type S14) and ability to operate CT (EPA License IA16);At least 4 years experience as Nuclear Medicine TechnologistSupervisory experience and leadership qualities with professional commitment to the workplaceAbility to work effectively as part of a teamAbility to demonstrate initiative and flexibility in managing a busy work environmentNeed more information?1) Click here for the Position Description2) Find out more about applying for this positionFor role related queries or questions contact Simon Taggart on This is a NSW Health Category A position which requires immunisation and screening for certain diseases.
