13 May 2025 About the job At Downer Professional Services (DPS), we work on complex and meaningful Defence, government, and infrastructure projects that shape Australias future. In support of our business units, Mission Engineering, Advisory and Technical Services, and Team Downer as the prime Major Service Provider (MSP) we deliver above the line consulting services and Integrated Work Packages across the Department of Defence, including groups such as Defence Digital Group (DDG), Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG), and the services for Navy, Army and Air Force. We are continually seeking skilled Project Managers, Program Managers, Project Support Officers, and Strategic Advisors for our consulting services and Integrated Work Packages. If successful in securing a role, your work may involve: Leading and delivering large-scale programs within Defence and government. Managing key project initiatives, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope. Developing executive-level reporting and business cases. Engaging with senior stakeholders and driving strategic outcomes. Improving project governance, risk management, and operational processes. Our work is highly complex and confidential; applicants must be Australian citizens with a minimum NV1 security clearance. Additionally, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may be necessary, which may impose restrictions on individuals with dual nationality, permanent residency, or former nationality of specific countries. Qualifications We are seeking candidates with defence industry experience in the following areas: Strong experience in project/program management within Defence, government, or professional services. Relevant qualifications or certifications (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, or equivalent). Excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership skills. The ability to problem-solve in dynamic environments and drive meaningful change. A passion for delivering projects that contribute to Australias national interests.
