About The Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a capable and motivated individual to join Councils Natural Areas team on a permanent fulltime basis. The position plays a key role in the delivery of Councils Bushland Management Program and will work in close collaboration with Councils Environment and Sustainability team and other government organisations to deliver best practice environmental outcomes for Councils natural areas. You will provide assistance for the management of Natural Area projects including First Nations and European Heritage sites and Bushfire Asset Protection Zone management throughout the LGA. On a daily basis you will: Coordinate activities relating to natural areas management, to meet the competing needs of Habitat Conservation, Occupational Health and Public Safety, Asset management and Public Utility. Investigate and resolve matters that have an effect on the natural environment. Prepare and administer contract documents and administer contracts. Assist the supervisor, manager, group manager and other council departments on matters that arise such as Development Applications, Bushfire management, biosecurity matters and threatened species declarations and regional support for biodiversity initiatives. About You The successful candidate will have a significant amount of relevant natural areas project management experience and will have worked with contractors in the delivery of natural resource programs. The individual will preferably have 5 to 10 years experience in bushland regeneration and/or natural areas management. You will also bring: Proven ability to deliver natural areas programs, including manage procurement, contractors and budgets. Ability to research and investigate matters in a methodical manner and be able to convey information to others in relation to environmental matters. Excellent communication, project management and stakeholder engagement. Strong analytical, problemsolving and organisational skills. Ability to lead, coordinate and deliver outcomes in a multidisciplinary environment. Seek and coordinate grant funding for natural areas programs. You will also bring the below Qualifications / Licences: Degree qualification in a recognised natural/environmental management related field, or another relevant qualification combined with at least 10 years of related experience. NSW Class C Drivers License. Whats On Offer We are offering an attractive remuneration from $104,610 to $115,174 plus 12% superannuation.
