Offer Description Based at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research Fulltime / Parttime (with negotiation) appointment on a tenurable/fixed term basis for 24 months. Base salary range: Level A/8, $112,371 / Level B, $118,150$139,812/ p.a. (prorata) plus 17% superannuation. The group investigates the genetic causes of underlying rare, mostly neuromuscular and neurodegenerative diseases using a range of genomic and functional approaches. The research group also explores targeted therapies for neuromuscular diseases, in particular congenital myopathies. About the opportunity Contribute to a functional genomics research program focused on rare neurogenetic and neuromuscular diseases, working both collaboratively and independently to support discovery and translational outcomes Design, conduct and/or support laboratorybased experiments, including data generation, analysis and interpretation, contributing to highquality research outputs such as publications and presentations Engage with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to the broader research environment through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and participation in team, School and external activities About you PhD in an academic field such as human genetics, cell biology or molecular biology or other related discipline. As a Level A, you will Demonstrated foundational knowledge and developing expertise in human genetics, cell biology or molecular biology or related discipline. Demonstrated commitment to participating in highquality research as part of a collaborative research team, including contributing to peerreviewed publications in respected scholarly journals. Demonstrated ability to relate well to staff and students at all levels, contributing positively to an inclusive, respectful, and equitable workplace environment and supporting principles of equity and diversity. As a Level B, you will Demonstrated experience in human genetics and functional genomics research, with a growing independent research profile evidenced by peerreviewed publications in highquality journals, relative to opportunity. A demonstrable emerging track record of successful competitive funding. Experience supervising research students and staff.
