Job Description

OverviewWelcome to St John of God Midland Private Hospital. As Coordinator Orthopaedics at the brand-new hospital, you will help establish and shape a new orthopaedic service from the beginning. You will provide on-the-floor leadership, supervision and expert technical support to orthopaedic caregivers, and contribute to workforce capability through competency development, education and training. You will work in close partnership with the Manager Perioperative Services (MPOS) and the Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) to set high standards of care and clinical excellence in a modern, purpose-built perioperative environment.ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise orthopaedic care in a modern perioperative environmentProvide technical support and on-the-floor leadership to orthopaedic caregiversContribute to workforce capability through competency development, education and trainingCollaborate with the MPOS and CNM; participate in planning and prioritising workHelp establish high standards of care and clinical excellenceQualificationsProven experience in orthopaedic surgery as an Orthopaedic Technician within an acute care settingAdvanced knowledge of orthopaedic equipment and its applicationDemonstrated leadership or supervisory experienceStrong organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise work effectivelyCollaborative approach with well-developed communication, conflict resolution, negotiation and problem-solving skillsAbout the Hospital and FacilitiesBrand-new purpose-built state-of-the-art facility, currently under construction, located 300 metres from the St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals CampusA comprehensive range of medical and surgical services, with interventional cardiology being offered for the first time in the regionFacilities include: 96 inpatient beds (including a six-bed critical care/high dependency unit), 33-bed/chair short stay and day procedure unit, eight operating theatres, and a cardiac/vascular catheter laboratoryWe can offer youSalary: $107,033 - $110,432 per annum, plus 12% superannuationPermanent full-time positionSalary packaging up to $18,550 on benefits such as mortgage, rent, meal entertainment, holiday accommodation or other everyday living expenses; options to salary package benefits above the FBT cap (e.g., novated leasing, work-related expenses, self-education and additional superannuation)Flexible work options, additional purchased leave and well-being programsEmployee discounts on St John of God Hospital & Medical Services and private health insuranceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Access to a range of lifestyle, health & wellbeing rewards and discountsWe celebrate diversity and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.
