The successful applicant will champion a multidisciplined, wholeofplant approach to asset reliability, focusing on increasing asset uptime and availability. The role supports plant engineers in root cause analysis and defect elimination, ensuring the right processes and best practices are documented, embedded and understood, and that all key personnel are trained appropriately. It plays a major role in shaping maintenance practices and driving key reliability projects across the site, and works closely with the Maintenance Strategist to align reliability insights with maintenance planning and longterm asset strategies. In addition to demonstrating our core values of distinction, pragmatism, honesty, tenacity and innovation, this role suits an experienced Mechanical or Electrical Engineer with a strong maintenance background in oil, gas, petrochemical or mineral processing environments and a solid understanding of brownfields operations. Responsibilities Provide expert guidance to the application of reliability engineering tools and models. Analyse asset failure data using statistical techniques, including Weibull distribution, to inform improvement programs and longterm asset strategies. Apply Six Sigma analytical models to optimise maintenance strategies and drive continuous improvement. Facilitate and lead Failure Mode Effect and Criticality Analysis sessions to identify and mitigate risks. Oversee the effectiveness of condition monitoring programmes, including vibration analysis, thermography, tribology and ultrasonics (partial discharge). Develop and routinely present Pareto analysis to identify bad actors and demonstrate improvements achieved through reliability initiatives. Ensure reliability threats and underperforming assets are assigned to appropriate investigation leads and that investigations are completed to a high standard. Personally lead complex Root Cause Analysis using the Apollo methodology and coach junior staff engineers in applying RCA tools. Track all investigations and provide regular reporting on status, findings and corrective actions, using dashboards where appropriate to summarise progress and trends. What You Can Bring Qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering. Substantial experience in oil, gas, petrochemical or mineral refineries in a maintenance capacity. Ability to engage and communicate clearly at all levels of the organisation. Strong collaboration and teamwork skills. Ability to prioritise and complete multiple tasks.
