About The Opportunity Blacktown City Council is seeking an experienced Senior Coordinator Planning Systems and Business Support to lead system improvement, digital integration, and business support across the City Planning and Development Directorate. This permanent, full time role works closely with the Director City Planning and Development and senior managers to deliver clear, consistent and responsive services for customers. Why You Will Love This Role Lead directorate-wide planning systems and business support functions Work across Council to align planning systems with corporate platforms and service outcomes Influence how planning services operate through system improvement and process design Build your career in one of NSWs most progressive Councils What You Will Be Doing Lead the development and implementation of a strategy to optimise planning systems, digital tools and business support functions across the directorate Drive system integration, reporting and workflow improvements to enhance data quality Provide expert advice on system risks, controls and compliance Coordinate system upgrades, process changes and user support Work closely with the Director City Planning and Development and senior leaders Support staff capability through training and clear documentation Be part of improving how planning services are delivered to the community and staff Essential Qualifications and Experience Degree in information technology, data analytics, planning, development, building or a related field Expertise in information technology, research, analytical, data extraction, interpretation and other problem-solving skills to generate innovative solutions Knowledge and experience with business process mapping, analysis, business scenario verification, customer request processes and configuration Experience using IT systems relevant to local government, including NSW Planning Portal, Microsoft Office, HP Content Manager (CM9) and Technology One Demonstrated ability to prepare written documents and professional reports that communicate complex concepts in plain English to a diverse audience High-level oral communication skills with the ability to liaise with all internal and external stakeholders and customers In-depth work experience in planning, development, compliance, regulatory functions or a similar role involving enforcement of legislation and regulations, including comprehensive knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and Local Government Act 1993 Current class C drivers licence Desirable Qualifications and Experience Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant or related field Experience working in a multidisciplinary team responsible for coordinating input from a diverse range of stakeholder groups Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Land and Property Information Experience presenting a portfolio view of project progress and budget status to executive-level staff High-level understanding of risk management principles associated with local government planning and development processes Knowledge of public sector procurement, tendering and contract dispute resolution processes within a local government context Experience in application of local government financial management principles as they apply to land use and development activities Management of private sector professional services contractors and/or consultants in a public sector context Proven experience in managing and implementing complex systems Commitment to ongoing learning Remuneration & Benefits Salary in accordance with Blacktown City Councils Enterprise Agreement Entry level for this position starts at $142,239.15 per annum 35hour working week Car allowance Opportunity to participate in Council''s flextime arrangement Employee benefits such as leave entitlements, 12% employer contribution to superannuation, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts and social clubs Our Commitment to Safety Blacktown City Council is committed to safety.
