Full time fixed term role for 12 months based at Camperdown Join a collaborative team as a Lecturer (Education) at the Sydney Dental School Base Salary $127,436 $151,328 + 17% superannuation plus clinical loading for AHPRA registration About the opportunity The Faculty of Medicine and Health is designed to enable innovation, excellence and strategic vision in teaching, research and clinical practice across all health disciplines. Responsibilities Undertake independent teaching in a dentistry discipline and/or clinical dentistry, contributing to outstanding educational design, delivery, evaluation and outcomes Engage in highquality teaching and learning experiences that meet the Universitys expectations and standards for education Design and deliver quality educational units of study and experiences that support student needs and meet curriculum requirements Contribute to the development and implementation of assessment in alignment with School, Faculty and University initiatives and policies Supervise research students at undergraduate level in accordance with the School, Faculty and University requirements Apply scholarship and contemporary pedagogical knowledge to innovate education Carry out administrative tasks primarily connected with the discipline Contribute to a positive workplace culture that values diversity of thought, contribution, collaboration, excellence and achieving outcomes Understand and contribute to advancing the University and Faculty strategic agenda Qualifications A dental qualification and current general registration as a dentist with the Dental Board of Australia (AHPRA); a PhD (completed or near completion) is desirable Experience delivering highquality teaching in dentistry across all student levels, and delivering clinical teaching in a tertiary environment Demonstrated success in designing, implementing and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives that enhance student outcomes Ability to collaborate with discipline heads and course coordinators to develop, deliver and mark teaching materials and assessments Experience supervising or mentoring colleagues and coordinating team activities to support professional growth and effective teamwork Demonstrated excellence in research, scholarly activities relevant to the discipline, and educational design and practice Capacity to undertake highquality research studies and publish in recognised journals in line with the Schools minimum requirements Strong written and verbal communication skills, combined with a collegial, teamoriented nature and experience working collaboratively Highly developed organisational and planning skills, with the proven ability to manage competing priorities and consistently meet deadlines EEO statement At the University of Sydney, our shared values are trust, accountability and excellence and we strive to be a place where everyone can thrive.
