About the role The FCS Worker is responsible for providing high quality intake, referral, outreach and case coordination services to vulnerable children and their families. They work closely with the FCS Team Leader and other FCS Workers to deliver early intervention and family support services. The role also requires providing traumainformed therapeutic services that contribute to positive outcomes for children, young people and their families. This includes support in mental health, physical health, employment and education, using a childcentred and familyfocused approach to identify strengths, needs, risks and protective factors. The worker collaborates with a wide range of specialist and mainstream services, including the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ), to improve linkages and develop integrated service responses across the Southern NSW District area. Locations and Schedule Goulburn 4 days a week (0.8 EFT) Queanbeyan 3 days a week (0.6 EFT) Cooma 3 days a week (0.6 EFT) There are three opportunities within our Early Intervention and Family Preservation Services program. The position reports to the Team Leader. Key Selection Criteria To be successful in this role, the incumbent will have: Demonstrated skills and experience in early intervention and case coordination. A tertiary qualification in social work, early childhood, community development or a relevant field. Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families. Working knowledge of local services and demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and work in partnership. Demonstrated ability to plan, organise and prioritise work.
