The Coordinator, Environmental Sustainability is responsible for leading initiatives that enhance environmental sustainability across the City, while also overseeing the daily operations of a team of Environmental Sustainability professionals. We are looking for an individual who will show true leadership, passion and professionalism for this role. About the role Key responsibilities not limited to: Develop, implement and evaluate evidence-based environmental sustainability programs aligned with the Environmental Strategy and organisational objectives. Lead integrated sustainability and resilience initiatives across departments, embedding principles into Council policies, plans, projects, and reporting on outcomes. Ensure Council meets its biosecurity obligations, maintaining compliant policies, procedures and practices in line with legislation. Build and manage strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen collaboration, participation and program delivery. Lead and develop a high-performing team, including oversight of volunteers and students, ensuring clear direction, capability development and timely delivery of priorities. Maintain expertise in environmental policy, legislation and best practice, driving innovation and providing strategic advice to the Manager, Sustainability & Resilience. Are You the Ideal Candidate? About the Person To be successful in this role, you will bring: A tertiary degree and/or equivalent in environmental management, or related discipline and/or proven experience (greater than 5 years). Minimum 5 years relevant experience. Demonstrated project management experience. Demonstrated experience in Behaviour Change, Biodiversity, Climate resilience, Community programs and Strategy and Policy. Experience delivering community sustainability education and events. Proven grant writing and project acquittal/reporting experience. Strong data analysis and environmental report writing skills. Experience with web-based data management systems. Experience in water, energy and greenhouse gas reporting. Whats on offer We are offering a total remuneration from $119,027 to $136,881 annual salary plus super.
