The service also provides leadership, research, and innovation across the sector, supporting both local SESLHD programs and four statewide services. SHBBV cares for approximately 28,000 patients through clinicbased and outreach models and is Australias largest sexual health and blood borne virus service. The Kirketon Road Centre (KRC) is a specialised service within SHBBV. Operating across four locations, KRC provides targeted health services for people who inject drugs, people engaged in sex work, atrisk young people, First Nations people, LGBTQI+ communities, and people experiencing homelessness. KRC delivers tailored primary and urgent care for these priority populations and nurseled outreach in partnership with community organisations. Role Summary This position provides expert medical assessment and management of patients within a multidisciplinary team consisting of doctors, nurses, counsellors and health education officers to address patients complex medical and psychosocial needs. Additionally, the role offers clinical oversight and facilitation of training needs for advanced trainees, registrars, residents and nurses, and initiates and participates in research, auditing and quality improvement activities. Responsibilities Provide expert medical assessment and management across primary health care, sexual health, HIV, viral hepatitis and addiction medicine. Contribute to clinical leadership, supervision and teaching of trainees and junior staff. Participate in research, audit and quality improvement activities that strengthen care across KRC and the broader SHBBV service. Suitable Candidates A medical doctor with a fellowship in sexual health medicine, addiction medicine or general practice and experience in primary health care. Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians Chapter of Sexual Health Medicine or Chapter of Addiction Medicine, or Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, or Fellow of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine or equivalent. Proven experience in highquality addiction and/or sexual health, HIV medicine, demonstrated through successful clinical practice in community or primary health settings, and involved in quality improvement activities relevant to the specialty. Demonstrated experience in the provision of primary care to marginalised populations. Demonstrated commitment to teaching with experience in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students and a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated experience and commitment to research relevant to the role and needs of KRC. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health services colleagues as part of a multidisciplinary health care team and ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and staff. Demonstrated understanding of the harm reduction approach to illicit drugrelated and/or sexual health issues and how this affects clinical care.
