Role Overview As a Squad Tech Lead within our Zx initiative, youll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our AIfirst engineering capabilities. Sitting at the heart of a modern productled environment, this role exists to lead technical strategy, uplift engineering standards, and create scalable, secure solutions that unlock meaningful customer and business outcomes. Youll guide a talented squad of engineers, partnering closely with product and design to take ideas from exploration through to production, while helping build Zurichs next generation of agentic AI capabilities. This is a unique opportunity to work in a greenfield environment with the autonomy to innovate, experiment, and influence how we deliver cuttingedge AI experiences across the organisation. Your work will have direct impact, supporting our mission to reimagine insurance and build a modern, cloudnative ecosystem that delivers longterm value for customers and our people. Responsibilities Leading endtoend AI agent development from discovery through to reliable production outcomes Setting and uplifting AI engineering standards, practices, and ways of working across squads Driving secure, scalable, and observable AInative solutions that perform in production Partnering closely with product, design and business stakeholders to solve meaningful problems Supporting and mentoring engineers to build capability, confidence, and engineering excellence Championing reuse, shared platforms and frameworks to accelerate delivery and consistency Qualifications Extensive experience leading fullstack engineering in cloudnative environments Proven handson experience building and running AI or agentic systems in production Strong capability across modern AI engineering, including orchestration, evaluation and observability Deep experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD and production ownership in regulated environments Solid cloud engineering experience, ideally across AWS and infrastructure as code Experience working in productled, agile teams delivering customerfocused outcomes Benefits Enjoy 5 weeks of annual leave for permanent staff through our Z leave initiative, along with 15 days of personal/carers leave as we empower our people to manage their own wellbeing.
