Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora - Waitaha Canterbury Ashburton, South Island 12 months fixedterm position at 0.6 FTE (24 hours per week) Shifts rostered across Monday to Sunday from 8:30am 5pm or 12pm 8:30pm Based at Trangi Aged Care Facility, Ashburton Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all NewZealanders. About the Role We are seeking an Activities Coordinator to join our team at Trangi Home. In this role, you will coordinate and deliver an engaging activity programme aimed at maintaining and enhancing the physical, psychological, and social wellbeing of our residents. Activities may include crafts, games, and group social interactions. This is a highly rewarding position where you will work closely with both individuals and groups, supporting residents to achieve their personal therapy goals as identified alongside the clinical team. You will also provide coaching and encouragement in a compassionate and respectful manner. About the Service Trangi Home is a 37bed residential care facility providing both rest home and hospitallevel care, including specialist dementia care. Our team is dedicated to delivering highquality care in a supportive and friendly environment, where dignity, empathy, and respect are at the forefront of everything we do. About You You will be a flexible and patient individual with a mature outlook and an enthusiastic approach to your work. Strong organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically are essential. You will also bring: Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills Experience as an Activities Coordinator or working within older persons health Preferably experience within the health sector An understanding of older persons health, including dementia care The ability to prioritise workloads and work independently with team support Working at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of NewZealand.
