Head of Digital Engineering Technology and Digital Services Continuing, full-time Competitive remuneration offered. The total package may include an annual market loading amount in addition to the base salary, increasing your total remuneration dependent on skills and experience. The University of New England is seeking an exceptional Head of Digital Engineering to drive our ambitious transition toward an AIfirst, platformdriven operating model. This is a pivotal strategic role a "transformation engine" for our Chief Information and Digital Officers office. Youll bridge highlevel digital strategy with groundlevel engineering excellence, architecting our path from legacy systems to a composable, APIled ecosystem that elevates the student, researcher and staff experience. About you To be successful in this role, you will have: Technical Excellence Technical background with deep expertise in Solution Architecture Strong working knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure, Integration Patterns, and Data Platforms Proven expertise in management of significant human and material resources Executive Leadership Capability Operate initially as a handson "PlayerCoach" and lead technical delivery, with a mandate to systematically build and scale a specialist engineering team Demonstrated capacity and trajectory toward senior executive leadership in complex organisational environments Exceptional emotional intelligence, strategic political acumen and ability to drive transformational change through influence Ability to operate effectively within complex organisational structures whilst building coalition and consensus at senior levels FutureReady Mindset "FrontThinker" fluent in modern operating models (e.g., Team Topologies, Platform Engineering) Deeply engaged with emerging technologies, particularly AI integration Distaste for status quo thinking; passion for innovation and continuous improvement Communication & Influence Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical teams and nontechnical executives Capacity to create shared vision for change and drive adoption through influence Qualifications & Experience Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training Demonstrated readiness to use AI and digital technology in the workplace About the Faculty/School/Department Technology and Digital Services (TDS) provides the digital infrastructure, platforms and services that underpin the mission and aspirations of the University of New England.
