Who We AreThe Protocol and International Visits Branch is responsible for administering the state occasions and official visits programme in a manner which enhances Australias international relationships, the image of Australia and the Australian Government.The principal activity of the branch is to manage, coordinate and deliver complex arrangements for a range of events, ceremonial occasions and visits.The branch collaborates with the Office of the Official Secretary to the GovernorGeneral, Prime Ministers Office, Ministers offices, diplomatic representatives, other Commonwealth departments and state and territory governments.What You Will DoAll roles are based in Canberra where you will work in a team responsible for the branchs principal activities for PM&C.Responsibilities IncludeManaging, coordinating or assisting with arrangements related to Guest of Government visits to Australia, national and official events including meetings, hospitality, ceremonial occasions, state funeral and memorial services, and virtual meetings between the Prime Minister and international leadersSupporting arrangements for Prime Ministers overseas visitsPreparing accurate and wellstructured drafts of official documentation, including briefs and programmes for a range of visits and eventsDeveloping skills to mentor and coach others in specific project work related to the delivery of visits and eventsCoordinating various administrative and logistic tasks such as private visits and transit arrangements to Australia by international dignitariesPreparing responses to routine correspondence, parliamentary questions on notice and FOI requestsProviding a range of administrative support relating to the delivery of visits and events, including flight and accommodation bookings, database management and official reportingIn addition to the above, the Gifts and Projects Officer is also responsible for:Administering the departments gift policies and guidelines by providing specialist advice and guidance on gift protocols, gift procurement, retention and disposal of giftsManaging the departments Official Gifts for Presentation contractImplementing and monitoring gift policies, systems and procedures to improve the delivery of servicesWhat You Will BringOur ideal candidate will perform at the level in accordance with the PM&C Performance model.The Positions Involve Working In a Variety Of Interesting And Dynamic Areas Where You Will Work Independently And As Part Of a Team. A willingness to work outside core hours, and travel interstate and overseas as required, is essential.
