Job Description

Blacktown City Council is hiring a Team Leader Impounding and Animal Welfare for a permanent, fulltime position at the Blacktown Animal Rehoming Centre. This role leads a busy, highpressure team, ensuring animal welfare, supporting staff and managing daily operations. About The Opportunity The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, experience leading people, and strong conflictresolution abilities. A passion for animal welfare and a commitment to maintaining high standards of care are essential. Essential Qualifications and Experience Certificate IV in a relevant field. Demonstrated experience dealing with customers, contractors, staff and management. Experience leading and supervising a team, motivating staff at the facility. High level oral and written communication skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution. Computer skills and proficiency with Council data systems. Ability to work with animals. Commitment to reunite lost animals with owners promptly and provide quality care for all impounded animals. Current C class drivers licence. Sound knowledge of the Companion Animals Act 1998 and related regulations. Desirable Qualifications Qualifications in Business Studies, Management or an animalrelated field. Qualified microchip implanter. Ability to drive a manual vehicle. Remuneration and Benefits The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Councils Enterprise Agreement. Entry level salary: $1,502.79 per week. 38hour working week. Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight. Employee benefits: leave entitlements, 12% employer contribution to superannuation, fitness passport, gym membership discounts and access to social clubs.
