A rewarding role in more ways than one Victoria Daly Regional Council is looking for two parttime Community Night Patrol Officers based in Kalkarindji, NT. The Community Night Patrol Officer plays a key role in providing a safe, respectful, and culturally appropriate service, supporting community wellbeing, safety, and positive engagement. You will patrol the community, build trust with local residents, and work closely with schools, health clinics, shelters, and other community services. How youll make a difference Demonstrate excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ensure children are at home or in another safe location with a parent or carer at night. Remind parents of their responsibility to provide a safe, quiet place for children to sleep. Maintain client confidentiality. Daytoday duties (examples) Assist the team leader with recording and reporting incidents and assistance provided. Provide consistent and regular community night patrols. Work in partnership with schools, health clinics, soberingup shelters, safe houses, womens refuges, and other community services. Provide advice, information and/or assistance that may reduce risk to individuals. Perform other duties as directed by the Night Patrol Team Leader. Parttime position details This position offers a competitive hourly rate, 7 weeks of annual leave with 17.5% leave loading, a remote area allowance, and professional development opportunities. Ideal Candidate profile Bring a strong understanding of the local Indigenous community and culture, and the ability to respectfully build relationships and deescalate conflict when required. What we need from you Strong communication skills. Accurate recordkeeping and written communication ability. Ability to work in the afternoon and night. Other requirements Criminal history check (recent within 3 months). Current Working with Childrens Card. Current unrestricted drivers licence.
