About the RoleAs a Pipelayer with Laka Civil, you will work as part of our civil crews installing underground services safely, accurately, and to specification. Your duties may include: Laying stormwater, sewer, water, and associated underground services Working to line, level, grade, and specification Reading and interpreting plans, drawings, and site instructions Preparing trenches, bedding, haunching, backfilling, and assisting with compaction Using laser levels and other site equipment Working around live services and existing infrastructure Assisting operators, supervisors, and labourers as part of the crew Carrying out general civil labouring duties where required Maintaining safe work practices around trenches, plant, services, and moving equipment Supporting quality, safety, and production requirements on site About YouYou will need to have: Previous experience as a Civil Pipelayer Experience with sewer, stormwater, water, or civil drainage works Ability to work safely in and around trenches Ability to read plans or work confidently from supervisor instructions Good understanding of line, level, grade, bedding, and backfill requirements Strong work ethic and willingness to work as part of a crew Construction White Card Current drivers licence Reliability, good communication, and a practical attitude The following will be highly regarded: MR or HR licence Plant tickets Confined space Working around live services experience Trench safety awareness Subdivision or infrastructure project experience Ability to use laser levels or GPS equipment Who This Role Will SuitThis role will suit someone who: Wants more variety than doing the same thing every day Prefers working in a direct civil crew rather than a site full of disconnected contractors Takes pride in neat, accurate, safe pipelaying Wants to be part of a team where good work is recognised Is happy to jump in and help the crew, not just stick to one narrow task Wants to work for a civil contractor that is growing but still practical, direct, and site-focused
