Positioned within Corporate Legal Services in the Legal Services Group, the team provides expert advice on information handling, data sharing and privacy risk across ASIC. It plays a key role in strengthening ASIC''s privacy culture and ensuring lawful, responsible use of information in a rapidly evolving regulatory environment. The roleAs a Lawyer within the Information and Data Law Team, you will: Deliver trusted privacy and data law advice on complex regulatory and operational matters, ensuring ASIC meets its legislative obligations with confidence and clarity. Embed privacybydesign into innovative data, technology and business projects, supporting lawful and responsible use of emerging tools and analytics. Lead privacy risk and incident management, including Privacy Impact Assessments, breach response and notifiable data breach reporting to the OAIC. Strengthen ASIC''s privacy culture, acting as a Privacy Officer and providing guidance on information protection, data sharing and bestpractice compliance across the organisation About YouYou will be an admitted legal practitioner eligible to hold a current Australian practising certificate, with 25 years'' postadmission experience as a lawyer. Your experience may be gained in government, an inhouse legal team or private practice. You Will Also Demonstrate strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, practical legal advice and present complex issues concisely to diverse audiences. Any certifications or programs required sound knowledge of relevant legislation, particularly the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988, and the ability to apply it confidently in regulatory and operational contexts. The ability to manage competing priorities effectively, working independently to deliver highquality outcomes in a fastpaced environment.
