The AFP works closely with a range of other law enforcement and government agencies at state, territory, Commonwealth and international levels to protect Australia and Australians from serious crime. The Superintendent works closely with partner agencies and internal AFP stakeholders. The Superintendent manages several joint taskforces and maintains strong collaborative relationships with policing agencies, in particular with South Australia Police. The Superintendent reports to the Commander of Central Command. Superintendent Darwin Investigations and Operations (open to Police applicants) - The Superintendent Darwin Investigations and Operations is responsible for providing community policing and national security within Darwin Airport, as well as managing a small team of investigators who work on diverse crime types, including organised crime, counter terrorism and child exploitation. The Superintendent works closely with partner agencies and manages a range of stakeholder relationships, as well as maintaining a collaborative relationship with policing agencies, in particular with Northern Territory Police. The Superintendent role reports to the Commander of Central Command. Superintendent Perth Aviation (open to Police and Protective Service Officer applicants - )The Superintendent Perth Aviation is responsible for providing community policing and national security within Perth Airport. The Superintendent works closely with partner agencies and manages a range of stakeholder relationships, including maintaining a strong collaborative relationship with policing agencies, in particular with Western Australian Police. The Superintendent role reports to the Commander of Western Command. Suitable applicants for the Superintendent Perth Aviation role, may be utilised to fill Protection Superintendent roles within Western Australia.
