Were seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Events and Famils Officer to join our passionate team. This role is ideal for a natural collaborator with strong project and event management skills who thrives on maintaining momentum across multiple priorities. Working closely with a small, dedicated team, youll play a key role in delivering VisitCanberras travel tradefocused events and familiarisation programs. Youll support the promotion of Canberra as a compelling destination by coordinating VisitCanberras attendance and activation at businesstobusiness (B2B) events designed specifically for the travel trade, including travel agents and distribution partners who actively sell Australia and Canberra to their clients. In this role, you will: Coordinate VisitCanberras participation in B2B travel trade events, trade shows and workshops across Australia and international markets Plan and deliver tourism familiarisation (famil) programs in Canberra for travel agents and partners throughout the year Work closely with tourism businesses, wholesalers and industry stakeholders to showcase Canberras tourism experiences Provide essential administrative and logistical support to the team This role reports to the Assistant Director, Partnerships and Distribution within VisitCanberras International Markets and Programs team. Eligibility /Other Requirements: Knowledge of the tourism industry is desirable Current Australian drivers licence Ability to work flexible hours and travel as required Note: Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. A merit pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months. This position operates in an activity-based workplace where staff do not have allocated desks and may work from the office or home according to their needs and business requirements.
