About the role We are looking for a junior Lawyer to join our expanding Pro Bono Practice. Responsibilities Our pro bono practice is intentionally broad and works with multiple areas of the firm. Pro bono matters are drawn from across the firm offering a broader and more handson experience. You will be working directly with a Special Counsel and the broader practices, benefiting from close mentoring, strong support and direct client contact. Matters include: Charity and notforprofit governance Employment advice and disputes Discrimination Elder and financial abuse Commercial disputes Estate planning and disputes Property Corporate and general commercial, IP and privacy You will act for charities, notforprofit organisations, vulnerable and disadvantaged clients, including asylum seekers, Indigenous individuals and communities, and work with community legal centres. Qualifications 12 years of experience postqualification (PQE) with a background in general commercial and/or estate planning. An interest in social justice and community contribution. Experience (or a demonstrated interest) in working with vulnerable or distressed clients. Has a good attitude, open mindset, and collaborative approach. Enjoys working across different teams and practice areas. Has exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Strong research skills. Previous probono or community legal experience is highly regarded but not essential. Lawyers without formal probono experience, but with a genuine interest in social justice and communityfocused work, are encouraged to apply.
