Job Description

Position Information Georges River College (GRC) Hurstville Campus is a vibrant coeducational setting focused on innovatively meeting the needs of the students in Years 7-10. The school has an enrolment of approximately 325 students, with 86% of students from a nonEnglish speaking background with increasing enrolments across the campus. GRC Hurstville Campus works collaboratively with the other Campuses making up GRC: Penshurst, Peakhurst and Oatley Senior Campus. The school priorities Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL), ensuring the values of respect, responsibility and excellence underpin all school activities. A broad range of cocurricular programs complements classroom learning and supports strong student engagement both in and beyond the classroom. The Support Unit at GRC Hurstville Campus includes three Autism classes and one Autism/Moderate Intellectual Disability class. The school has dedicated staff committed to academic excellence and student wellbeing, using evidencebased teaching practices to support student learning. High impact professional learning remains central to strengthening teacher practice and building collective efficacy across the campus. The successful candidate will teach in the PDHPE Faculty and develop the Dance program across the school. Welldeveloped communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to contribute to faculty planning, whole school programs, and develop positive relationships with students, staff and the wider community. Selection Criteria Approval to teach PD/Health/PE and Dance. Ability to implement engaging and effective teaching strategies which cater for the individual needs of students with a diverse range of abilities, fostering a high expectations behaviour culture and student growth. Welldeveloped communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to contribute to faculty planning, whole school programs, and develop positive relationships with students, staff and the wider community. Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
